Every story in one place, and where each one has been.
Finished stories out on submission, half-done ones, first lines that haven’t found a story yet: Wryte keeps them all in one project, with each story in a folder of its own.
A folder for each story, and a submissions log.
The Short Stories template starts with two stories, each a folder you can fill with scenes, plus a page for story ideas and a submissions log: which story went where, when, and what came back.

Working on a story.
- Cards (⌘2) for the scenes inside a story, so you can see its turns at a glance.
- Status for each story, from First Draft to Done, shown as a stamp on its card.
- Word goals per story, for competitions and magazines with limits.
- Checkpoints before you cut 500 words to fit, so the longer version is never lost.
- Notes left out of the book. The ideas page and the submissions log stay in Research and never turn up in an export.

Export
Sending a story out.
Untick everything but the story you’re sending and export a Submission manuscript. You get a Word document in standard manuscript format, in Times New Roman, double-spaced, with half-inch indents and your scene breaks marked. Add your contact details and the running head in Word, and it’s ready to go.
Always check the magazine’s own guidelines first; when they differ, theirs win.
